Insurance

All Regents institutions participate in a vehicle self-insurance program that provides liability and collision for damages where fault rests with the university driver. When damage to a vehicle is a result of gross negligence, or where accidents are reasonably avoidable, a charge of up to $500 may be assessed to the department responsible for authorizing use of the vehicle. In cases of gross negligence, or where the driver is clearly at fault, Transportation Services may further assess part or all of the cost of repairing the vehicle.
