Motor Vehicle Record Checks
Undergraduate and graduate students are required to submit a motor vehicle record (MVR) check. MVR checks will expire after 6 months. We recommend that you put a recurring appointment in your calendar to resubmit your MVR 6 months to avoid delays in approval.
Faculty and staff that are driving on behalf of student organizations are required to submit a motor vehicle record (MVR) check. MVR checks will expire after 1 year. We recommend that you put a recurring appointment in your calendar to resubmit your MVR every year to avoid delays in approval.
To submit your MVR, simply click the Motor Vehicle Record Checks button above, log in using your NetID and password, and follow the prompts to submit a new MVR.
Note: Out-of-State record checks can take a little longer than In-State record checks. As such, we recommend that out-of-state drivers are diligent in keeping their MVR up to date and expect at least a 3 day waiting period for your check to clear.
If you would like to expedite your Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check, please email Transportation Services.
Please see the Iowa State University Fleet Safety and Vehicle Use/Rental for questions about eligibility.
